Starting at point A, work a row of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>single crochets<\/strong><\/span>,<strong> increasing<\/strong> stitches to get the necessary multiple for the checkerboard pattern.<\/p><p>It\u2019s better to increase slightly than decrease, to keep the shape neat.<\/p><p>For this bag, I used<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong> a multiple of 12 plus 7 stitches<\/strong><\/span>, totaling 55 stitches.<\/p><p>You can adjust this as you like.<\/p><p>Work 14 rows:<\/p><p>Rows for panels:<\/p><p>R1:ch*sc*(increases)-to get a multiple of 12 stitches + 7 stitches.<\/p><p>R2:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>R3:follow the checkerboard\u00a0 pattern<\/p><p>R4:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>R5:follow the checkerboard\u00a0 pattern<\/p><p>R6:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>R7:follow the checkerboard\u00a0 pattern<\/p><p>R8:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>R9:follow the checkerboard pattern<\/p><p>R10:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>R11:follow the checkerboard pattern<\/p><p>R12:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>R13:follow the checkerboard pattern<\/p><p>R14:ch1*sl st-hdc*-sl st<\/p><p>Repeat this sequence for the other panel so you end up with two identical pieces.From <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">C<\/span> to<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> D<\/span>.<\/p><h2>**Building the Sides and Closing the Bag**<\/h2><p>For the sides, work according to the height of the checkered\u00a0 pattern.
